Gran Fondo 2023 Calendar – The biggest sports bike event of the year. The 2023 UCI Grand Fondo World Championship Grand Fondo will be held on Friday 4 August. The time trial takes place on Monday, August 7. The event sees riders from around the world compete for the rainbow jersey in time trials and Gran Fondo road races. The event is the pinnacle of competitive Gran Fondo racing. To qualify, enter one of the 2022 and 2023 UCI Gran Fondo World Series events and finish in the top 20% of your age group. Qualification is not as difficult as you think, represent your country in 2023!
The 2023 UCI Grand Prix World Championships will be held in Glasgow and Scotland. Venues for both events will be confirmed at a later date. The event brings together qualified cyclists from around the world. The winner of each age group will have the honor of wearing the rainbow jersey for one year as the official UCI Grand Fondo champion.
Gran Fondo 2023 Calendar
Launched in 2011, the UCI Gran Fondo World Series (formerly known as the UCI World Cycling Tour) is a series of UCI-sanctioned road races held around the world. In the 2022-2023 season, the event series will have the top 20% qualified in each age group at the UCI Grand Fondo World Championships. Age group winners of the UCI Grand Fondo World Championships are awarded the UCI Rainbow Jersey. Qualifying events are open to riders of all levels: those aiming for the podium and those wanting to cross the finish line with their best time. The Gran-Fondo and Medio-Fondo will take place on August 4, 2023, with the route starting and finishing at a confirmed location in Scotland. The time trial takes place on Monday, August 7 at a venue TBC.
Please arrive at the hotel of your choice and meet us at Glasgow or Edinburgh Airport. We will now operate regular transfers from both airports. Please allow an hour between your flight departure time and transfer time so that you can go through passport control and collect your luggage.
You can bring your own bike as we have arranged a bike rack to take with airport transfers. Or you can rent a bike from us for the weekend. Our mechanics will fit your rental bike at the hotel this afternoon or help you set up your bike after the tour. Bicycles can be stored at the hotel.

Oregon Gran Fondo
We offer two nights accommodation for UK riders for the Gran Fondo. We will not be offering airport transfers at this time. Please make your own arrangements for transportation to the hotel of your choice. If you plan to come today, please arrive early to check in to the hotel, prepare your bike and sign up/register for the event village tomorrow.
You can bring your own bike as we have organized bike storage in the hotels. Or you can rent a bike from us for the weekend. Our mechanics will fit your rental bike at the hotel this afternoon or help you set up your bike after the tour. Bicycles can be stored at the hotel.
After breakfast we will help people without bikes since they arrived yesterday. Join us on our first trip this afternoon. We offer an excursion to discover the Gran Fondo course.
Celebrate Cycling With Gran Fondo Hincapie
Tonight our cycling guides will teach you about the logistics and of course the route on race day. We eat together at the hotel (where included).
After a delicious breakfast, head to the starting area. All our hotels are located at the start and finish of the bike. If you have any problems, our chef is available all day at the Mission Race Village.
The men's and women's elite races will be held in Glasgow on Saturday 5th August, with the juniors race and the men's elite course around Glasgow on Sunday 6th August.

Stay 1 or 2 nights with us in Glasgow and book VIP hospitality with us (extra). Your extended tour includes transport from the Gran Fondo venue to Glasgow.

After breakfast and final bike adjustments, we'll take you on a guided tour exploring the test course. A short coffee circuit is arranged to get your legs moving, but nothing too vigorous the day before a time trial.

Courses will be announced later. The Gran Fondos will be contested by women in the 45-49 age group and men in the 65-69 age group. The women and men of the Senior Medi Fondo will compete in the short distance. All age groups will run the same distance during the trial.
