Disney Special Events Calendar
Disney Special Events Calendar – The number one question I get asked when people are in the early stages of planning a Disney World vacation
Note: Over the past few years, the parks have become more crowded and seem to be fewer and farther between low crowds for this time of year.

It's all relative, because slow times are less crowded and busy seasons are busier.
May 2023 Disneyland Crowd Calendar
Hi, I'm Jamie, travel mom, entrepreneur, and travel advisor. I am a Disney addict, I love to travel and explore the world with my family, and help families experience the magic of travel. My house is full of love and chaos, two crazy girls, two big dogs, and the coolest architect and Disney cast member called my husband. We live in Florida and spend our weekends playing in many theme parks in Orlando and visiting the beach. In 2015, after helping several families plan vacations to various Disney destinations, I started a blog to answer all the questions I received daily. In 2016, his blog became a travel agency, and the love of magical vacations was born. With a team of around 20 people, we spend our days creating family holidays around the world. What started as a blog has now become a worldwide vacation destination planning service. I create personal trainers for each of my clients who not only meet but exceed expectations. There is no greater gift than making memories while sharing the world and its culture with your children. Are you going to Walt Disney World? Ready to start planning your next visit? You might want to check out our Walt Disney World Crowd Calendar! There, you'll find daily crowd levels, what weather to expect, and what seasonal experiences you can enjoy.
This calendar is based on historical facts as we know them today, and personal experience. Walt Disney World is an ever-changing destination and you may encounter a different crowd, weather, or seasonal experience than expected.

Crowd patterns at Walt Disney World have changed dramatically over the past few years. The introduction of tiered tariffs (back in 2016) had a significant impact on congestion patterns that persist today.
Some traditionally slow times have become busy and historically busy times have become very slow. Most of the summer has been pretty busy (even the 4th of July).

With WDW temporarily closed in 2020 and many guests canceling their flights due to travel restrictions and safety concerns combined with the long-term effects of the COVID-19 pandemic – only time will tell how this unique mode (not to mention!) pans out. The WDW crowd will continue to impress.
January's Disney World crowds start off with a bang — New Year's Eve is the busiest day of the year for WDW! After the New Year's festivities were over, the EPCOT International Arts Festival began (my favorite annual EPCOT festival!).
February is one of the best months to visit WDW. The EPCOT International Arts Festival begins, and the crowds are sparse for the rest of the month… except for President's Day week, which always draws crowds.
Disney World 50th Anniversary: What You Need To Know
In March, spring break also increases the level of people by a large number. However, if you visit during any other part of the month, you will find lovely weather and enjoy the EPCOT International Festival of Flowers and Gardens.
Crowd) Summary of special events during the month of April. Fewer crowds, warmer temperatures, and special seasonal events make April a fun month at WDW.
Memorial Day weekend marks the (unofficial) start of summer at WDW and over the past few years there have been quite a few events this weekend! From the grand opening of Pandora – World of Avatar to the launch of the latest "Amazing Summer" campaign for specials, Memorial Day weekend was exciting (but

) time of year. However, in early May you can enjoy some of the best swimming pool weather with moderate crowds while EPCOT International Flowers and Gardens is still going on.
In June, the temperature starts to rise, but the crowds (thankfully) are low to average. The EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival runs throughout the month and Gay Day (4+ days in a row) takes place at the beginning of the month!
Spending the Fourth of July at WDW (despite the huge crowds) is something I think all Disney fans should do at least once! It is great to see visitors dressed in red, white and blue in the park, which is also decorated for the occasion of patriotism. Fireworks at EPCOT and the Magic Kingdom will leave you ready to come back next year (trust me, I've been there)! But, if you know me, you won't be surprised to hear that my last Fourth of July was definitely at WDW, where I saw Voices of Liberty perform their signature show of the year (multiple times a day). American Garden Theatre!
Disney World Events & Refurbishments
August is a very rainy and less crowded month for WDW, which leads to the start of the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival later in the month. If you're okay with some sweltering heat, August is a great time to take advantage of those few crowds…just be sure to plan extra time to enjoy the pool at your resort!
After experiencing some incredibly hot September weather at WDW for the past few years, I have a (personal) theory that September is the hottest time of the year to visit WDW (especially the early months). On Labor Day weekend, crowd levels are almost as high as summer! Labor Day has become an increasingly popular day to visit WDW, but after a busy weekend, the crowds have thinned out. Plus, by September, the Halloween season is in full swing!
Time of year to visit WDW! Crowd levels vary greatly throughout the month (it's also important to refer to our crowd calendar when planning your trip). In addition to the many Halloween festivities October has to offer, the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival runs throughout the month.
October 2023 At Disney World (crowd Calendar, Weather, + Tips)
WDW's holiday season begins in November (after Halloween) with a very early transition from pumpkins to parks filled with holiday decorations and fun Christmas trees, lights, wreaths, and ornaments.
Also, at the end of November, the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival is over, giving way to the EPCOT International Festival Holidays!
All months are magical at WDW, but December may be the most magical. From Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (at the Magic Kingdom) to Sunset Seasons Greetings (at Disney's Hollywood Studios), the amount of holiday spirit at WDW is off the charts…as are the crowd levels at the end of the month!

Yes, tourists from all over the world come to see Cinderella's castle, meet Mickey and hug the princess. But tourists also come to run marathons, compete in sports events, and enjoy the various festivals and celebrations in Disney's four parks.
It's important to have a general idea of what's going on at Walt Disney World throughout the year. Some events attract large crowds that can increase total turnover and wait times in the park. You may choose to avoid planning your vacation during this event.
