Planning A Walt Disney World Vacation In 2023
As if planning Disney activities for 2023 wasn't difficult enough, things have gotten even more difficult in recent years, especially with the closing of Disney World parks and all the returning attractions, entertainment and restaurants, which have more than two years until he returns.
To predict what will happen in 2023, it is necessary to carefully analyze what has happened since the beginning of the reopening period.
As congestion has increased since the parks opened, we will look at whether there will be an increase in 2023 and the impact it will have on congestion and waiting times.
Hollywood Studios Crowd Calendar: Your Best Days To Go In 2023
As a caveat, since the parks reopened, every traditional international crowd calendar has been thrown out the window, making it extremely difficult to predict attendance.
In 2022, some of our predictions came true (visitors returned to Walt Disney World in large numbers), but due to many unpredictable reasons, we were very wrong. Any predictions for 2023 should be taken with a grain of salt, because the past two years have been more difficult than ever for ordinary people to understand, and we are far from perfect.
2022 is the most interesting year and we don't know how the event will do in the year. There are many unknowns, including the current health crisis, the economy and the desire of foreigners to travel in general. With each passing year, it becomes clear that people are not slowing down when it comes to vacationing or visiting the "World's Greatest Magic."
December 2023 At Disney World (crowd Calendar, Weather, + Tips)
Walt Disney World is reopening in 2020 in phases, starting with Disney's Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. We never got an official announcement like Disney, but most of the signs of security restrictions are still there. It has disappeared from the Disney World website.
However, things are still not back to normal and the resort's capacity is limited at this time due to the lack of staff in the Orlando area.
Last year, the overall participation levels were so high that you couldn't say that participation was down. Almost every time I visit, the level of the event seems normal. It's very different in 2021, especially compared to 2020 where parks are sometimes like ghost towns and many attractions have to wait 15-20 minutes.
Crowd Calendar Trends For Late 2018 And Early 2019
In January 2022, things explode as the parks are worse than we've ever been. After all, February saw more foot traffic and wait times reach record levels for the year.
Things get worse in March and April when people start traveling for the summer holidays and Easter. The parks are very busy during these months and even with reduced capacity the park is full.
May was quiet, our favorite month to visit last year, and the wait times were very short, making us happy with our guests. Things picked back up in June and continued until July when Disney World events seemed to return to normal. Much of this is due to increased theme park capacity and the return of in-park entertainment options.
July 2023 At Disney World (crowd Calendar, Weather, + Tips)
If you really want to look at the numbers, our friends at Thrill-data.com have some great charts where you can see the progress and expected times throughout the year.
The chart above shows the waiting period for the Magic Kingdom starting in 2021 and ending in November 2022. Although we updated this article before December 2022, park tickets and hotel reservations ensure that it will be another vacation for insanity.
You can see that in August/September 2021 the average waiting time per view is 15 minutes, but after 2022 the average waiting time is 35 minutes or more.
Orlando Crowd Calendar
Like every year, there was a slight decrease in August and the biggest decrease was in September. In fact, the average waiting time for attractions at the 4 parks in September is between 25 and 40 minutes, a big difference from a few months ago.
October is one of the busiest months of the year and has been this way for years.
Although the month in which we took these photos is not over, it is not clearly indicated in the chart, so many people took a vacation in November. We have no doubt that December will be perfect and the parks will be packed as usual. It is not for nothing that we have been at the top of the rankings for most of the months.
Which Disney World Park Is Best In 2023?
So does this mean the population will increase in 2023 and beyond? Yes, we think there is a good chance that will happen.
Spring and summer from September to December are busy due to holidays and school schedules. However, our growth over the past year has increased as people return to normal as most travel is on holiday and the park is approaching 100%.
The low levels of the past few years were due to several reasons. Many local travelers were hesitant to go at first, but after a few months of seeing how Disney handled the changes and procedures, they were more comfortable with the idea. Eliminating these methods, such as wearing a mask, can help attract guests who were previously willing to wait.

Also, many DVC members had to use points from canceled trips in 2020 and 2021 and were "forced" to go to Disney World last year to avoid losing points.
Disney has increased attendance at the park, and while Disney will not comment on this publicly, it cannot be different from before 2020, so the number must be 90% or higher.
Yes, guests must still use Disney's new Park Pass system to reserve parks, and numbers are limited each day, but that's not an issue unless you're waiting or trying to get there at the last minute.
