Loyola College sets a national trend in prioritizing students with disabilities. There is a special institute called Resource Center for Different Disabilities (RCDA) established by UGC-HEPSN and National Institute of Visual Impairment (NIVH), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. RCDA has been selected as a first-of-its-kind model center for services for persons with disabilities.
A special service branch, LSSS was established to provide academic, financial and personal support services such as scholarships, management concessions, free meals, special English programs, supplementary education, special training, remedial programs, personality development, life skills, arts. and special support for literature and foreign students. Her main focus is to enable students from marginalized sections of society, especially Dalits, to face the challenges of life with dignity.

One of the best practices that have made Loyola nationally known is its efforts to reach out to the local community through comprehensive humanitarian assistance.
The college has provided a unique service by establishing Loyola FM 107.4 as a community radio frequency within a 15 kilometer radius. At Loyola Community Radio, the college broadcasts various special programs on local issues for transgenders, gypsies, widows, blind people, street children, tribal residents, auto drivers etc.
Another very special service is the establishment of LRRS in 2015 in educational institutions across the country. In November, rains began distributing food and clothing to rain-affected people in Chennai. Loyola's flood relief service consists of 30 employees, 250 active volunteers and a medical team of 8 doctors who assisted approximately 1,750 flood victims living in Loyola facilities. In LRRS 2018, a rain relief camp was launched in November for postgraduate students to offer their services to rain-affected areas, especially those affected by Cyclone Gaya.

Another special function of the college is to promote community service through the outreach program implemented under the School of Service Education. The college has about 50 settlements (urban villages or slums) around the college campus under zones 5, 7 and 8 of the Chennai Corporation. UG students are required to complete 120 hours of community service, while PG students can visit villages and experience life at the ground level to prepare them to serve the poor in the future.
