The Sedgwick County Schools Crime Prevention Program created the Speak Up! program that allows students, staff and parents to submit anonymous tips via a secure website, smartphone app or by phone to protect their schools. All messages are encrypted and routed through secure servers to protect the sender. The user receives a nickname and a unique ID before the message is sent to the $261 Speak Up coordinator. This enables two-way communication between the user and the organizer without revealing the identity of the sender. Funding for this service is provided by Crime Stoppers of Wichita/Sedgwick County.
