Happy 246th Birthday, USA! There is no better place to commemorate this event than in Boston, a city steeped in history, rebellion and patriotism. Enjoy a variety of festivities throughout the city on weekends, including tours, parades, food festivals, musical performances, parades and, of course, fireworks.

Start your weekend at the Boston Harborfest. The annual series of events culminates in downtown Boston's Independence Day celebrations. Enjoy Caribbean spices and flavors at the Boston Jerkfest and Boston Hot Sauce Fest before boarding the USS

Gardens & Parks

Perform a 21-ball salute. On the fourth day, head to Fenway Park to cheer on the Red Sox and cap off the evening with a concert and fireworks show on the Esplanade. Followed by a spectacular Boston Pops fireworks display.

Boston Harborfest returns for a weekend of patriotic action celebrating Boston's maritime and revolutionary history. A summer tradition, Harborfest kicks off on July 1 with an opening ceremony featuring civil servants, martial artists and the 215th Army Band. Come back Saturday, July 2nd for the Harborfest Classic Car Show and fireworks at dusk. Enjoy live entertainment from local performers and an arts and crafts market at the Downtown Crossing through Saturday night. The festivities continue on Monday, July 4, with the City of Boston's Independence Day celebrations, starting with a morning parade at City Hall Plaza and laying wreaths at the Patriot's Grave on Greenery Row. Th Of July Weekend Events & Fireworks 2023 In Boston

The Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum brings the historic event to life through a sensory experience that includes actors, interactive exhibits, and a life-size replica of an 18th-century sailing ship. Visitors can drop tea in the same waters where the Boston Tea Party was held 240 years ago and explore the Old Southern Meeting House, Tea Party Boats and Griffin's Wharf. See Sam Adams, Sons and Daughters of Liberty, Patriots and Loyalists on their journey. Visitors can also see the Robinson Tea Chest, the only known surviving tea chest from the first of his 1773 Boston Tea Party. Watch an award-winning film at the Minute Man Theater before you leave

It depicts the events of April 19, 1775. Beginning with a midnight ride on the Paul River, the documentary continues to Lexington Green, where "gunshots heard around the world" were fired to start the American Revolution. A panoramic movie screen allows viewers to see, hear and feel the thrill of war in the countryside. Before you leave, stop by Abigail's Tea Room and Terrace (open to the public without a museum ticket) and sample five of his teas that were thrown into Boston Harbor on December 16, 1773.

The Boston Tea Party Boats and Museum is located at 306 Congress Street in Boston. Tickets are $31.95 and can be purchased online or at the museum. Tours are available Thursday through Monday from 10 AM to 5 PM, and the gift shop and restaurant are open daily.

Jerk is a spicy, slow-cooked style native to Jamaica. Celebrating his 9th year in Boston, this year's Boston His Jerk His Fest features local Caribbean chefs, delicious food, spicy signature dishes, and homemade Caribbean beverages. Join the festivities this year with the new Boston Hot Sauce Festival featuring hot sauces, jams, jellies and candies. This family-friendly event at the Harvard Athletic Complex features reggae legend and ambassador Freddie McGregor pioneering reggae, soca, steel drums and his band playing live world music. . Festival-goers can taste and judge a 'seafood toss', a rum and beer tasting (21 plus), and many other culinary events.

The Boston Jerk Fest and Boston Hot Sauce Fest are held from 11 AM to 7 PM at the Harvard Athletic Complex (145 North Harvard St., Allston). General admission tickets are $22.50. VIP tickets are also available. Buy your ticket here.

Summer Tennis Camp

Through July 24th at the American Repertory Theater. This musical tells the story of John Adams and his efforts to persuade the Continental Congress to vote for American independence from British rule. Popular songs include "Sit Down John," "Your, Your, Your," and "She's Playing the Violin." This reimagined production also features a cast of actors representing different races, genders and ethnicities. The show, currently running at the American Repertory Theater, opens in New York City in September of this year and begins a national tour of 16 cities in February 2023.

Stop by Powell River His House in the North End to explore the famous Midnight Rider home at 19 North Square. Dating back to 1680, the house is a National Historic Landmark and is the oldest building in the city of Boston. This small wooden house was purchased by the Revere family in 1770 and still retains its original structure, including doors, window frames, flooring, foundations, interior walls and rafters. On the night of April 18, 1775, Paul his Revere left this house and embarked on a midnight journey to Lexington. Self-guided his tour of the two-story River House. Includes an illustrated text panel and museum interpreter. The 2.5-mile Red Line connects 16 National Historic Landmarks that tell the story of the American Revolutionary War, including museums, churches, arenas, meetinghouses, parks, ships and historic buildings. Choose your own tour and join an 18th-century costumed guide for his 60-90 minute walk through Boston. Tours vary in distance and have different days of the week and times, so check the schedule before purchasing your ticket. Guided Freedom Trail tours are available throughout the day and depart from the Boston Public Visitor Information Center at 139 Tremont Street or Fanville Hall at 4 S. Market Street.

When the ship returns to the Charlestown Navy Yard, visitors can come by from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. to ask questions and talk to the U.S. Navy sailors on board.
