Cua Calendar Spring 2023 – The mission of the Center for Teaching Excellence is to work directly with teachers to enhance educational innovation and educational quality. We collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to advance the mission of the Catholic University and improve teaching and learning through world-class research.
Dr. Diego A. Boada is a Colombian educator, researcher and instructional developer with over 15 years of experience. Diego has developed online education for over a dozen universities and institutions in Colombia, the US and the UK. Diego began his career as a teacher of English for speakers of other languages. Diego earned a master's degree as a Fulbright Scholar. and Ph.D. in Education, Design and Technology from the University of Georgia (UGA). He also did an Executive MBA from Quantic School of Business and Technology. In the year In 2019, Diego received a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Pedagogy for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Students at UGA for Latino Achievement and Academic Success. Before joining TechCenter, Diego worked at various edtech startups and consulted for the Inter-American Development Bank.

The full-time faculty teaching fellowship program includes a commitment to work on an advanced one-semester project with a CTE team. Projects are related to teaching and/or learning and are based on the teaching and research interests of the individual.
The Messy History Of Our Modern, Western Calendar
How can you improve the effectiveness of your lessons instantly and powerfully without spending a lot of time? Teaching Little: Everyday Lessons in the Science of Learning by James M. Lang (2nd ed. 2021, Jossey-Bass), readers learn about evidence-based change for low and high impact. Our courses to improve student learning. Book group members are encouraged to try some of these practices, share their experiences, and reflect on each other's accounts. We meet three times every Tuesday during the first half of each semester. Participants who attend at least two of the three sessions will receive a copy of the book. Click to register!
Want to dig deeper to create a fully accessible course for all students? The first in a series of three Universal Design for Learning (UDL) workshops will allow participants to discuss with peers the principles that can be applied in a course and explore opportunities to participate in future courses and provide training.
