Program Description: CLIP (CUNY Immersion Language Program) is a subject-specific program that helps ESL students prepare for college. The focus of the program is reading and writing for educational purposes. Students in the CLIP program work intensively for 25 hours a week to improve their reading, writing and academic skills as well as develop their computer and research skills in the computer lab.

Program Eligibility Requirements: This program is open to ESL students who have been accepted to the City University of New York (CUNY). Students participating in this program are expected to enroll at City University after completing their studies at CLIP. This program is an option to enter early college courses. Students are placed according to the ESL-D written diagnostic test or the CLIP program assessment, which determines placement in college credit or ESL courses.

Students can stay in the program for up to 900 hours. At 300 (autumn). 150 hours (winter), 300 hours (spring) and 150 hours (summer). You can apply for both day and evening classes.
Program Description: KELI is an intensive, academic, subject-based program that enables English Language Learners to improve their spoken and written English and develop the skills needed to prepare for university. Theme-based and project-based learning allows students to explore aspects of American culture and develop critical thinking, organizational and computer research skills that will be used in college.
Program Requirements: The English Language Institute (KELI) program is open to anyone preparing for college, including F-1 visa students.

Program Description: An intensive full-time course that prepares students for the TASCTM exam. Develop math, social studies, science, reading, and writing skills in preparation for the TASC
Program Eligibility Requirements: Students must be 18 years of age or older to enroll. You must be 19 years of age or older to take the NYS exam. All students enrolled in the HSE program must take a formal assessment preparation test before taking the TASC.
Program Benefits: Learn test-taking strategies to prepare for the Official Readiness Assessment Test (required to qualify for NYS TASC).

Program Description: This intensive full-time program provides academic preparation for TASC for preschoolers seeking a high school diploma.
Program Eligibility Requirements: Students must be between 17 1/2 and 20 years old. To qualify, students must score a reading score of 9.0 or higher on the TABE test and write an essay. Each student (or parent/guardian) must sign a student responsibility form at the start of class.

Program Description: The ESL/Food Handler program is designed for ESL students to help students improve their English, learn cooking and food preparation skills, and study with the NYC Department of Health and Mental Health and obtain nationally recognized ServSafe certification. Preparation for a career in the food industry. The program includes ServSafe and NYC Department of Health (DOH) accreditation to protect health and safety in hand food preparation.
Program Benefits: The free program (for qualified applicants) prepares students for industry-recognized DOH and ServSafe certification, helps students with resume writing, interview skills, counseling, referrals, and offers employment services.
Program Description: The Venture V program for SNAP participants provides job preparation and placement services to eligible candidates who can demonstrate an active job search. Depending on individual employment goals, free English as a Second Language (ESL) and High School Equivalent (HSE) programs may be available to eligible participants in addition to select training and certificate programs. Training and certification programs include Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Emergency Medical Technician (EMT); Certified Home Health Aide (HHA); Certified Electronic Health Record Specialist (CEHRS); Pharmaceutist; Paralegal; Treasurer; Direct Support Program (DSP).

Program Benefits: Selected candidates may have access to training programs that help develop job skills in a growing workforce. Participants can receive help with resume writing, interview skills, counseling, referrals and placement services.
Program Description: Part-time courses offer graduate evening classes (Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday). Or on Saturday or Sunday for students who cannot attend on weekdays. This course contains educational content designed for all adults, including 3 hours of computer training.

Program Eligibility Requirements: Senior English students who are interested in learning or developing English listening and speaking skills in addition to reading and writing.
Program Benefits: Flexible work or weekend hours are available to accommodate part-time students. Students are tested and placed at a level that meets English language standards. This course includes 3 hours of computer instruction for levels 3-8.
Program Description: Become a certified phlebotomist by completing this comprehensive hands-on technician program. I turned the needle back on. Students are required to sign an assumption of risk. (127 hours)

Program Description: Become a certified pharmacy technician by familiarizing yourself with medical and pharmaceutical terminology and understanding the laws and ethics related to the pharmaceutical industry. Students must sign the assumed risk. (120 hours)

Program Description: Certified Nursing Assistants assist Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Registered Nurse RNs with direct patient care. This challenging but exciting program prepares you for entry-level positions in nursing home and hospital settings. (135 hours – 96 hours in the classroom, 32 hours of supervised clinical experience and 1 hour of CPR)
Program Description: The number of jobs for certified home care aides will increase significantly by 2020, making HHA one of the most in-demand professionals. Home health aides (HHAs) provide specialized health care in patients' homes. Patients range from the elderly to the disabled to those with chronic illnesses that do not require hospitalization. This course is a great addition for students who have completed their Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training. (82 hours)
Program Description: Learn the basics of health data entry using electronic health record (EHR) software, including clinical decision support tools, physician order entry screens and electronic prescriptions. This course teaches students how to identify, develop and interpret health data from real-time EHR software, and how to coordinate and create detailed workflows.

Program Description: Patient care technicians (PCTs) work with doctors, nurses and other healthcare providers to supervise and monitor patients. Kingsborough's PCT training provides students with the basic practical skills needed to complete or obtain a diagnosis.
