The fall semester begins Monday, August 22, and the last day of classes is Thursday, December 8, at UT Dallas.

The University of Texas at Dallas is gearing up for the fall semester beginning August 22. The following information and resources will help Comets prepare for the new academic year, which will once again include in-person, online and hybrid class.

"Continued campus innovation and enhanced services will underscore the evolution of the UT Dallas experience in the fall of 2022," said Dr. Calvin D. Jamieson, vice president of facilities and economic development. "The entire campus team welcomes our faculty, staff and students. Additionally, with 8,200 students living on or adjacent to campus, the ongoing construction of the DART Silver Line in north and the ground-breaking construction of the Athenaeum in the south bodes well for the future of the entire campus community.
UT Dallas continues to monitor public health conditions and strongly encourages Comets to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and monkeypox. Covid-19 vaccines are available to students by appointment only through the Student Health Center. Students may also receive a COVID-19 test from the center after completing an evaluation by a health care provider. Masks are required at Health Center and Campus Health Center events. Information and guidance on monkeypox can be found on the Community Health website.
Facilities: Work has begun on the first phase of the Edith and Peter O'Donnell Jr. Athenaeum near Naveen Jindal School of Management Building. The first phase is expected to be completed in the spring of 2024. Construction continues on a UTD station on the new Dallas Rapid Transit Silver Line near the Northside. It is scheduled to open at the end of 2024. As part of its reorganization and expansion, the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion has moved to a new suite on the second floor of the Administration Building. The new passport office will open on September 9 in the Student Services Building. Part of the International Center, the facility is open to all US citizens planning international travel. You can make an appointment on the website. The coffee shop and tech shop in the visitor center and the university bookstore have been integrated into the bookstore. In Dallas, work is progressing on the Texas Instruments Biomedical Engineering and Sciences Building, a joint facility of UTD and UT Southwestern Medical Center. Parking and Transportation: A temporary 300-space parking lot will open this fall south of M West, which was removed for Athenaeum construction. Parking permits can be purchased online and parking areas are outlined on this map. There are now 64 bicycle parking spaces adjacent to an academic building or at a UTD facility on campus. An additional 57 locations are located near campus housing, and all bike repair centers have been replaced with new equipment. For help navigating the campus, check out UTD's interactive map. Dining: Some dining areas on campus are open now and others will reopen when the fall semester begins. Kalachandaji Express is a new addition to the Student Union Food Court that offers a variety of vegetarian and vegan options with Indian flavours. Dining Hall West and Student Union Chick-fil-A has been updated with a fresh new look. Tradecraft Coffee and Tea Bar has expanded its premises in the Naveen Jindal School of Management building. Late-night bakery Insomnia Cookies is opening a sequel this fall. Ut System Adopts Free Speech Policy, But Students At Ut Dallas Are Already Speaking Freely
This course complements theory and is intended to provide in-depth, hands-on experience in all aspects of a software development project. Students work in teams on projects of industrial interest and participate in defining the problem and its solution, designing and analyzing the solution, developing the software architecture, implementing and testing the projects. Deliverables include reports documenting these steps and a final project report and user manual of the developed system. Teams will give presentations during the course and students who have successfully completed this course will present their software:
