This is an English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program offered to international students who do not meet the English language requirements for direct entry into their chosen course. The course content, activities and assignments are designed to prepare students for the language demands of university work. On the other hand, students at the beginner level and lower intermediate level mainly focus on basic language skills. There is no minimum GPA requirement to be considered for graduate programs at GSU. However, the average GPA of competitive candidates is 3.2 on a 4 to 10 scale. For master's programs, candidates must have an equivalent US bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study. For research programs, students must have a bachelor's or master's degree or the equivalent of both in the US in a relevant field of study. Additionally, some courses may require GRE or GMAT scores. There is no minimum GRE requirement to be considered for graduate programs; However, the average score for competitive candidates is a cumulative 295–300 on both the verbal and quantitative portions of the test. Similarly, the average GMAT for competitive candidates is 620. Other test scores, such as the LSAT and MCAT, may be required on a course-by-course basis. Note: The International Certificate must be equivalent to a four-year U.S. bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, which will be determined by internal assessment of courses or vocational assessment, depending on the college, school or institution of interest.
GSU requires that all international academic papers be formally reviewed by the Undergraduate/Graduate Admissions Office or an independent review service. All documents must be in English, otherwise they must be translated into English or accompanied by a certified English translation.

GSU does not offer financial aid to international students. However, limited scholarship opportunities are available for accepted international students. Awards or fellowships are awarded based on criteria such as merit, personal finance, and research area. There are many opportunities available such as scholarships, programs and mentorships. GSU offers spring, summer and fall admissions. However, some courses are offered in select classes, so students should check their respective course pages to find out which courses are offered in each class.

International postgraduate students can apply online using the University's application portal. To start a new application, students must first register with personal information. Candidates will be able to review and track their application information online at any time.

Graduate admissions decisions begin no later than March 1 for applications received by the February 1 priority deadline. Applicants who applied till the last date of 1st April can get written notification of their application after 1st May. Graduate faculty and faculty carefully review the entire applicant pool, so the review process varies by program. Students will receive an email notification once a decision has been made.
